ABOUT US

"If you think you're too small to make a difference, try sleeping in a room with a mosquito."

Hi, I'm Deb, founder and owner of Tabitha Eve! I started my own personal war against wastefulness and plastic pollution when travelling and diving the seas of Borneo. Confronted by a plastic island that was home to the precious sea life I'd travelled so far to seek out, I vowed to try and do something and started creating products to replace disposable items in my home. To my surprise, others soon started asking for some in order to help them do their bit too... and so Tabitha Eve (named after my youngest) was born!
.
Here's a little more about our values...
.
.

So do we actually care?

Yes. We really do.

As a company we aim to strike a balance between sourcing the most ethically produced raw materials and providing excellent quality items that are made to last. Our aim is to ensure each of the fabrics used is ethically sourced and manufactured, as well as using fabrics that are organic or, if not certified, organically grown wherever possible.

And how do we reduce our own waste?

At Tabitha Eve, sustainability is considered throughout production with our designs based on fabric widths to ensure minimal waste, and off-cuts offered to local schools and charities, as well as to customers.

Initiatives to reduce waste don't end there, and we offer all our 'imperfect' products - that's those that have been sewn slightly incorrectly or that might be a little wonky - at a heavy discount in regular sales to avoid any perfectly functional items ending up in landfill. Where there is unavoidable fabric waste, this is often used to produce other products - our Organic Cotton Make Up Rounds, for example, are made using the off-cuts from our Shower Mitts!

.

What about our packaging?

We avoid plastic as much as possible and ensure that our packaging, both at point of sale and for delivery purposes is reusable, biodegradable and/or recyclable.

Have we considered the environmental impact of our shipping?

Yes, we have. Sadly, cotton and other natural fibres don't grow in the UK so we have to import them, but we never have them shipped by air freight and plan our workload around the slightly longer leadtimes this entails in order to keep our carbon footprint lower.
.

Do we make our own products?

Yes! The vast majority of Tabitha Eve’s products are hand sewn in our lovely studio in Pontypridd. South Wales has a plethora of talented sewists following the mass exodus of fashion and textile brands in recent years to cheaper manufacturing hubs abroad, and we hope to re-establish South Wales as the place to be for the textile industry! We have a wonderfully diverse team of local creatives, all of whom are paid at least the national living wage and have the opportunity to share in the profit of the business each year.

Some of our products are sourced from elsewhere if we can’t make them ourselves, but we always make sure they are from ethical and reliable sources where people are cared for and the planet is considered!

Is everything plastic-free?

We avoid plastic wherever possible, but we recognise that it's also an incredibly useful invention that's sometimes very difficult to replace. Most of our products are entirely plastic-free; we don't believe in using it unless absolutely necessary. There are just a few products such as our Breast Pads and Snack Bags where waterproofing or food-safety is required, so these are made with PUL. However, our belief is that as long as the product is designed with reusability and longevity in mind, necessary plastic isn't evil.
.

Are all products all vegan?

Yes. None of our products are made with animal derivatives and all are cruelty-free.

Do we support any other causes?

Absolutely. I truly believe in the power of business for good, not just for profit, and we are determined to have a wider positive impact. Through the sale of our products we support various causes, from charities supporting the LGBTQ+ community to local foodbanks and perinatal mental health charity Mothers for Mothers.

.

Everyone can do their bit to reduce their landfill waste and replace single use items with reusable products; so thank you for checking us out. Even by just looking at our solutions you're making the conscious decision to offer your customers the chance to make a difference to our planet and take a stand against the devastating effects of a throw away culture.

.

Thank you to all you wonderful people who are making a difference...
