Oat milk, a recipe...
Switching from dairy to plant-based milk is a big change, but worth a try if you're on a mission to reduce your waste.
Oat milk produces 0.18kg of Co2 per 200ml glass and needs a tiny 0.16sq metres. That's a lot less than cow's milk, which produces 0.6kg per 200ml and needs a massive 1.8sq metres of land to be produced. 🥛Â
You can buy plant-based milk like oat milk in most shops, but wouldn't it be even better if you could make your OWN in reusable glass bottles for a completely eco approach to your milk consumption?
Here is a delicious recipe you fancy giving it a go!Â
.
- Soak 1 cup of oats in water for 15 minutes
- Rinse and Drain
- Add fresh water, syrup or vanilla to taste
- Blend until smooth
- Strain through a t-shirt, nut bag, cheesecloth or fine sieve (our muslin cloths work well) to remove any pulp
- Chill your oat milk 30 minutes before servingÂ
- Enjoy!
